VUČKO TRAIL 2023 RACE INFOPACK

Dear Vučko Trail runners,
It’s 7 days until the start of Vučko Trail 2023  and in this newsletter we bring you all important and useful informations.

RACE COURSE SERVICE INFORMATION
 
BLACK COURSE – 105 km

  • The night start of the race is scheduled for Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10 PM
  • Runners should attend technical meeting 1 hour before the start of the race.
  • We emphasize the importance of having mandatory equipment, due to the seriousness of the conditions on the mountain, the demanding terrain, and the possibility of rapid changes in weather conditions.
  • Recommendation is that during the night runners stay in groups, and if the competitor is alone, it is recommended to make noises to announce their presence to potential wildlife.
  • Take special care through populated areas because of livestock and domestic animals.
  • We especially draw your attention to the high water level at the Rakitnica river crossing. A rope has been installed for safety.
  • In case of high water level of Rakitnica river, the crossing will be moved to another location – the route will be changed.
  • We draw attention to the fact that when using a GPS device, the competitor must position it on the upper part of the backpack for the best possible position towards the satellite and base stations. Storing the device inside the backpack is not allowed.

RED COURSE – 61 km

  • Due to the change of start-finish location, the course is changed compared to previous years.
  • Running direction is from Javorov to Šiljak peak, and further towards Dugo polje/Crveni Klanac and Lukomir.
  • We draw attention to the fact that when using a GPS device, the competitor must position it on the upper part of the backpack for the best possible position towards the satellite and base stations. Storing the device inside the backpack is not allowed.
  • The GPS track for this trail has been updated and can be downloaded here.

BLUE COURSE – 39 km

  • Due to the change of start-finish location, the course is changed compared to previous years.  
  • Running direction is from Javorov do towards Šiljak peak, and further towards Dugo polje/Crveni klanac and Lukomir.
  • The return route has also been changed, and after aid station GRADINA runners go towards Bijele Vode and finish the race in Javorov dol.
  • Due to the mentioned changes, course profile has been changed. The total length of the course is 39 km.

GREEN COURSE – 13 km

  • Due to the change of start-finish location, the course is changed compared to previous years.
  • Running direction is from Javorov do towards Bijele Voda, Kuća spasa, Babin dol and back to Javorov do.
  • The track has retained its circular character with a change in the profile of the track in accordance with the fact that the competitors start their race in Javorov dol and move in the opposite direction compared to previous editions of the race.

 2. PARKING AND SHUTTLE TRANSPORT: BABIN DO – JAVOROV DO

The parking lot is located near the start and finish of the race, in Javorov dol. Due to the narrow access road and limited parking capacity, we recommend that you leave your vehicles in the available parking spaces in Babin dol, to avoid crowds and possible delays.

From Babin dol to Javorov dol, on the day of the race, Saturday 17.6. shuttle transport will be organized at the following intervals:

 ·  departure from Babin dol towards Javorov dol (7:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00)

·  return from Javorovo dol to Babin dol (16:00, 16:30, 17:00, 17:30, 18:00, 18:30, 19:00)

3. BIB PICK UP

You can collect your starting numbers and packages according to the following schedule:

 ·  Tuesday, 13 June, from 17:00 to 22:00 (Concept Store KUTCHA, Skenderija 15, Sarajevo) – ALL RACES – location: https://goo.gl/maps/Fgcc7FEfJJ58WAE16

·   Friday, June 16, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. (Javorov dol) – ALL RACES – location: https://goo.gl/maps/yErAoziVpMszSjnx7

·    Saturday, June 17, 2023, (Javorov do), according to the following schedule:

            Red Course 61 km: 07:00 am to 07:45 am

            Blue Course 39 km: 08:15 am to 09:30 am

            Green Course 13 km: 10:15 am to 11:30 am

IMPORTANT!

Pick up on the day of the race closes exactly at the specified times and competitors who do not pick up their packages by closing time will not be able to participate in the race.

You can pick up starting package and number personally or for another competitor, if you have a document with a picture with you and sign the Disclaimer.

 4. EQUIPMENT

VUČKO TRAIL 2023 RACE INFOPACK 1

It is recommended that, in addition to the mandatory equipment, competitors for 61 km, 39 km and 13 km also bring the following equipment:

  • Running sticks
  • rain and wind resistant jacket suitable for bad weather
  • T-shirt with long sleeves
  • hat or scarf
  • gloves
  • energy bars
  • elastic bandage
  • sunglasses
  • SPF protection

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Before the start of the race, the competitors on the 105 km will have their equipment checked!

 During the race and at the finish line (the first 10 competitors and by random selection after that), the organizer reserves the right to check the mandatory personal equipment of the competitors.

 For each missing part, competitors will be penalized by adding a penalty time of 30 minutes.

 A competitor will be disqualified if he collects more than 90 penalty minutes, or if he is missing more than 3 pieces of mandatory equipment.

 Make sure to bring your own glass/container for water because you won’t be able to get it at aid stations.

5.  BAGS

 Competitors can leave items they want waiting for them at the finish line at the race office. You are obliged to put a sticker (which you will receive at the race office) with your starting number on the bag in which you leave your belongings.

6. BAGS AND EQUIPMENT FOR TRANSITION

 Competitors in the 105 km race should hand over their transition equipment to the race office before the start of the race, where a sticker with the start number will be put on the given equipment.

 When handing over the equipment to the race office, it is necessary to clearly emphasize that it is for TRANSITION.

7. TRANSPORTATION SARAJEVO – JAVOROV DOL

 If you need transportation from Sarajevo to the race start at Javorov dol, buses will be provided on the day of the race.

 To ensure your place in the transport, you need to MAKE THE PAYMENT FOR THE TRANSPORTATION, no later than Tuesday, 13/6/20223. via bank transfer or through webshop.

 The price of organized transportation to the race is 10 KM (5 EUR)

 Buses will run according to the following schedule on Saturday, June 17, 2023:

06:00 – National Museum – Javorov do (arrival at 7:00)

08:00 – National Museum – Javorov do (arrival at 9:00)

The return from Bjelašnica is at 7:00 p.m., after the medal ceremony.

 Live timing works in such a way that the volunteer at the control point enters the start number into the system. That is why it is very important that the starting number is clearly visible at every moment of the race.

 In the places where the path exits onto the asphalt, the turns on the road will be marked with spray.

We ask competitors not to remove or move any flags or signs.

 10.   MEAL FOR COMPETITORS

All competitors are entitled to a meal after the race.

Food will be served in the area located at the start/finish.

To get your meal, you must show your start number on which the food icon is indicated.

 Lunch will be served on Saturday, June 17, 2023. from 14:00-20:00.

After 20:00, lunch will be served only for competitors who did not finish the race by 20:00
